Never Settling!

"You can choose to play it safe, you can choose to settle for less!" Erwin Raphael McManus

I read this quote over fall break and it really spoke to me. I began to think about this thought of always playing it safe. It is an easy to go to the place where you feel comfortable...the place where everyone is at. The place where everyone says is the right place to be.

However, this summer sitting by a camp fire at camp...I threw a piece of wood in a fire. It said on it..."Everybody's expectations." That night I remember not being able to escape God speaking to me his vision for my life. It is a vision that takes me beyond what I could ever do. It takes my beyond what other women in ministry are doing. It takes me beyond the norm! Choosing to follow God's vision for my life will require not settling for less...but it will require great sacrifice. That is why that night when I watched the flames consume others expectations for my life I began to cry because I realized I was going to live a life that was completely consumed by God's heart.

God's heart leads me tonight to a place that is not safe. I am going to be a single woman in ministry, going after the heart of her King! It is an exciting time. A time when I watch friends of mine settling for less and less of God and others grasping everything God has and going farther and farther for him.

I stand here tonight convinced that you can either play it safe and settle for what everyone says you should do or decide to allow God's heart to consume yours and watch as He takes you to places that you never thought or dreamed you could go! Following GOd's heart always makes me feel more alive than the moments when I am in my most comfortable places!
